Wounded Wings


LaToya is the Founding Director of Wounded Wings: Association for the Betterment of Women and Girls. An interfaith organization, Wounded Wings’ mission is to better the lives of women and girls, by providing educational opportunities and support systems needed to create and reach goals for personal success. The organization promotes social justice and aims to help women and girls heal from trauma.



Women Entrepreneur's Network (WEN)


Entrepreneurship can provide a path to financial empowerment. Starting a business can be tough but life changing. The Women Entrepreneur’s Network (WEN) is a division of Wounded Wings and uses PETALS to provide coaching, technical support, trainings and workspace for women and girls who are entrepreneurs or looking to start a business.

LaToya Bates is a social entrepreneur, educator and urban farmer. Through her work with Small Business Solutions consulting, she focuses on meeting the diverse business needs of marginalized groups, and works to promote entrepreneurship with women, youth, the LGBTQIA+ community and persons of color. LaToya is a graduate of Alverno College where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Business and Management with Adult Education and Psychology supports, as well as a Master of Education with an emphasis on Organizational Development. LaToya’s studies included a Master of Arts in Counseling at Lakeland College, and she earned a Master of Pastoral Studies from Cardinal Stritch University.
